OUTDOOR ALLIANCE

Mission Statement

Outdoor Alliance unites the voices of outdoor enthusiasts to protect the human-powered outdoor recreation experience and conserve America’s public lands.

About This Cause

Outdoor Alliance is the only organization in the U.S. that unites the voices of outdoor enthusiasts to conserve public lands and ensure those lands are managed in a way that embraces the human-powered experience. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit coalition of national advocacy organizations that includes American Whitewater, American Canoe Association, Access Fund, International Mountain Bicycling Association, Winter Wildlands Alliance, the Mountaineers, the American Alpine Club, and the Mazamas. As backcountry skiers, hikers, paddlers, mountain bikers, boaters and climbers, we have a direct and intensely personal interest in the conservation of our public lands. We are often the first to notice when something is wrong in our outdoor landscapes, and we are highly motivated to protect these places and the experiences they offer. Public land and conservation policy is complex, and we work with the policy experts from our national member groups to track important issues and give the outdoor community meaningful opportunities to engage and make a difference. We believe that a unified outdoor recreation community is the best way to protect the outdoors. By connecting millions of outdoor enthusiasts, Outdoor Alliance works to protect, promote, and enhance human-powered recreation, and ensures the best protections for places that matter to the outdoor recreation community.
