About This Cause
The SF Progressive Media Center was formed in the wake of legendary, 55-year-old alternative weekly paper the Bay Guardian's demise, in order to continue its mission to "print the news and raise hell." We publish the acclaimed news and culture site 48 Hills, which is the SF Bay Area's only daily, progressive, nonprofit source for news, politics, opinion, analysis, arts, music, nightlife, film, performance, and more. We are dedicated to deep reporting and diverse voices, cultivating talented new writers and uncovering essential stories in the SF Bay Area. Our independence means we operate without corporate constraints or big-money, backroom influence. We are truly independent media, brought to you by expert editors and writers.
