Mission Statement
Granite State Arts Academy is a public chartered school serving grades 9-12 offering all core academics and intensive study in the arts. Students major in one of the following: Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts. Students at GSAA enter the school doors with a common thread that unifies them: A love for the arts. Small classroom size and the opportunity to grow and thrive in a creative environment provides a setting in which students can experiment, explore, and stretch to new limits without worry of what others think. There are no cliques at GSAA. We are a community of diverse and talented students who support each other and collaborate to produce original thought and art. Granite State Art Academy students are future innovators and creative problem solvers.
About This Cause
Granite State Arts Academy is a 501c3 organization. GSAA is a state of NH authorized public charter school serving grades 9-12. The school opened in August 2014 to 64 students. Enrollment is expected to be 100 in our second year. Student capacity is 160 students. This small school size allows for small classroom size and a closer relationship between students. As a charter we have autonomy within our curriculum. Classroom lessons incorporate the arts and the art classes utilize core studies of math, science, and language arts. Students are given many ways to show comprehension. Our students thrive in a setting where creativity is allowed to be a part of their everyday life. The school was founded with the belief that arts must be a part of educating the next set of innovators and creative problem solvers. Without creative thought and the ability to make mistakes to see what works, there is no forward movement. Our students are each valued for their uniqueness. It is our goal to put the love of learning back in each student who walks the halls of the Granite State Arts Academy. It's working.
