Making a difference for helpless, homeless pets at the Metro Animal Shelter
About This Cause
Friends At Your Metro Animal Shelter (FAYMAS) helps pets at the Metro Animal Shelter which serves 7 cities in Pierce and South King County, Washington through membership, fund raising events and grant writing. Specifically, FAYMAS pays for: 1/2 the adoption fee for animals 8 years and older, microchips for pets found at the shelter by their owners, vaccines, prescriptions and medical expenses in certain cases that the shelter cannot cover. FAYMAS improves the quality of shelter animals' lives through projects such as: new dog beds, cat kennels, dog gates and sound proofing. Participation in community events throughout the year gives FAYMAS the opportunity to educate pet owners and others about caring for pets, the services offered by Metro Animal Shelter, and how FAYMAS is making a difference.
