Mission Statement
Rose City Hockey Club, a girls ice hockey program based in the Portland, OR & Vancouver, WA area. Girls, trans, non-binary and gender expansive players ages 5-16 are welcome. Our mission is to create and sustain a thriving youth ice hockey program for girls, non-binary, gender expansive and trans kids that provides them with the skills needed to succeed on and off the ice.
About This Cause
Rose City Hockey Club, a girls ice hockey program based in the Portland, OR & Vancouver, WA area. Girls, trans, non-binary and gender expansive players ages 5-16 are welcome. Our mission is to create and sustain a thriving youth ice hockey program for girls, non-binary, gender expansive and trans kids that provides them with the skills needed to succeed on and off the ice. We welcome people of all backgrounds and denounce all forms of racism & discrimination. We run a robust scholarship program open to all people and offer free gear to any player who needs it. We mentor female, non-binary, gender expansive and trans athletes in an effort to teach them life lessons such as treating all people with dignity and respect. Caroline Parks and Rose King are passionate about growing girls ice hockey in Portland, OR. To transform their vision into reality, they began laying the groundwork for the Rose City Hockey Club with the help of friend and teammate, Jessica Duggan. They kicked off the first season in Fall 2013. Over a decade later, Caroline and Rose have turned over day to day running of the program to a board of directors made up of parents of current and former players. Rose continues to advise as we plan its future growth and is a frequent coach. Many of women from Portland's adult hockey community volunteer with the Club each week. Quite a few hockey parents have also stepped up to coach as well. We are grateful to Caroline and Rose for creating a positive, supportive environment that inspires kids to do their very best on and off the ice!
