Mission Statement
Lights Camera Discover was built on a simple foundation, to effectively break the circle of generational poverty you have to equip the next generation with education in careers that are “in demand”. Our mission is to provide free, accessible and effective STEAM programming leading to secondary education and then to STEAM careers with the goal is closing the circle in generational poverty. We develop, in our student’s, a sense of pride, self-worth, strength and appreciation of community commitment through performance and digital arts. Lights Camera Discover will be one of the catalysts to infuse a cooperative spirit that will bring forth the creativity of oneself.
About This Cause
Lights Camera Discover is a community of people who believe in the creative ability and future potential of youth who are sometimes overlooked. We empower creativity and individuality from concept to completion through mentorship and education in arts technology. When dreamers are in some of the most formative years of life development. Today we are Currently in Phoenix, AZ and Chicago, IL. Our goal is to have Campuses, programs, and workshops available all over the United States. We believe art, creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit make up the foundation of society and offer great opportunities for growth and self-exploration We provide this through a safe community of people who believe in our youth’s potential, honor their creativity, and encourage independent thinking. We Produce! From concept to completion, we set the stage for youth to learn all aspects of video production – from the tools to the techniques. We pull back the curtain and expose them to the many opportunities both behind and in front of the camera so they can take action in pursuing their passions. We applaud their successes as they write the script for their futures, and we are proud to present their progress. We teach the fundamentals and help youth find their way around stage and studio. We guide them to perform—both on the stage and off. We provide big picture, wide views to offer new perspectives. Open minds and spaces offer the opportunity to explore and uncover passion, talent, and inspiration. We want youth to go where inspiration takes them! Improvisation is a necessity on stage and screen, just as it is in life. We go with the flow, wherever we may be pulled. Rising stars learn and always improve... that’s why we created a community of them! Imagine having both support and encouragement as you learn, grow, and become the best version of you. We invite youth into a safe community of support where they will be the star of their own show. Their light will help illuminate the way for those around them. STORY At LCD, you write your own script. Your story is unlike any other and we want you to share it, even as the plot twists and you are faced with surprise endings. Let your story unfold! MOVING PICTURE Always in motion, your vision, your creativity, and your inspired action can take you anywhere you want to go. Adapt to your surroundings while controlling what environment you can, then sit back and enjoy the show. THE CAST You are part of a team and a community that will work together to make your vision come to life. Whether you are the lead or supporting cast member, we support each other. ROLL and ROLE When the camera is rolling, each of us assumes our role, and many of us play more than one, especially off-camera. When the lights dim and the makeup comes off, we are sometimes left wondering what role to play next. There’s a part for everyone, both onstage and offstage. What’s yours?
