Mission Statement

Woza Soccer (www.wozasoccer.com), is a Seattle-based nonprofit offering international summer service trips for high school and college soccer players. With soccer, service work and cultural immersion at the heart of each itinerary, Woza strives to broaden the perspective of players by demonstrating their ability to connect across cultures and engage long-term in soccer-focused social impact. As a nonprofit, our goals are to provide grants and scholarships to keep our trips accessible, and also use our proceeds to help fund our international service partners using soccer for social impact.

About This Cause

Woza offer international service trips, specifically designed for high school soccer players using the game of soccer as a vehicle for connection across cultures and social impact. Providing an immersive cultural experience for students in communities vastly different from their own, Woza empowers students to connect with locals in each host country. We use soccer, a language that all our participants are fluent in, to break down cultural barriers and develop an appreciation for the people we play with. Woza strives to develop young community leaders and inspire students to continue giving back to their own communities and the communities we work closely with abroad. The trips are specifically designed for soccer players, so the group plays soccer every day in some form and the service is done through soccer. Woza offers four destinations to choose from including Costa Rica, Peru, Malawi and South Africa. Each destination is different, but all of the itineraries feature soccer, service work and cultural immersion. The groups are co-ed, with about 12 students and always two leaders - a male and a female. Trips range from 12-28 days and run from late June to early August.
