Mission Statement
My name is Keston Jones. I am the founder and executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement and Rehabilitation of the Marginalized, FARM Inc. Founded in 2014, the FARM’s mission is to encourage, educate and assist community residents and their families in their efforts to achieve autonomy from system involvement, overall health and wellness, and interventions aimed at creating sustainable futures.
About This Cause
Location: We are based on the border of Brownsville/S. Crown Heights Brooklyn NY. Our main office is located at 1432 Pitkin Ave, Brooklyn NY 11233 (The FARM Community Closet). The location is home to the FARM Harvest Initiative food pantry serving 500 residents a week. We also have a location two doors down at 1428 Pitkin Ave, Brooklyn NY 11233 (The FARM Community Peace Center), home to SPROUTS Youth Justice Initiative, computer lab and games room. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been an essential resource throughout our local intersecting communities of Brownsville and South Crown Heights Brooklyn for healthy food, supplies and other resources. Through our FARM Harvest Initiative, we have served over 25,000 residents and counting. During the 2020 census campaign, our ‘We Count Brooklyn Initiative’ was able to secure over 700 census completions and engaged over 15,000 residents with census and COVID-19 related materials.
