Mission Statement
Needy Paws Rescue is a 501(c)3 volunteer 100% foster-based nonprofit organization saving dogs from high kill shelters, strays, abandoned and surrendered, from St Louis and rural Missouri areas, regardless of breed or size.
About This Cause
**Needy Paws Rescue has been awarded the Highest Honor from Guidestar.org. "2021 Platinum Seal of Transparency". We are 1 of only 5 other animal rescues in the St Louis area to have received that Honor! and 1 of only 20 in the whole State of Missouri! Please check out the website and see our financial data and 2020 Annual Report. Needy Paws Rescue of St Louis was founded in April 2014 by Lora Pappas. As a nonprofit, we could not exist without the generous donations of funds and supplies needed to support our dogs on a daily basis. Lora has added 100 volunteers who have helped save over 5,400 dogs in the last 7+ years. Every dog saved, lives comfortably in a foster home and cared for until a forever family is found. Our medical bills fluctuate with each rescued dog, approx. $15,000 to $20,000 per month, depending on the medical needs. We have cared for dogs with broken legs, heartworm treatments (costing $500/dog), pneumonia treatments, water therapy, surgeries, dental treatments and more. We want our dogs healthy to help them find forever families.
