KIWANIS CLUB OF FORT COLLINS-EYEOPENERS FOUNDATION

FORT COLLINS, Colorado, 80525 United States

Mission Statement

The Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c )3 of the Internal Revenue Code and the Regulations thereunder. The specific purposes and objectives for which the Corporation is formed include but are not limited to: assisting needy persons or organizations that assist needy persons, particularly young people and children; assisting worthy youth in achieving leadership, educational and vocational excellence; and to aid handicapped persons in leading happy, useful lives.

About This Cause

The members of the Foundation have traditionally provided both volunteer hours and financial support to a variety of customers. Among other projects, we support Habitat For Humanity Builds; Colorado Feeding Kids; Colorado Mission of Mercy (an annual free, no-questions dental clinic serving as many as 1,600 patients); Youth Baseball; Ronald McDonald Houses; Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families; and The Nappie Project (diapers for needy families distributed through our food bank); and the Kiwanis International Children's Fund. We give copies of The Swimsuit Lesson (a picture book addressing child sexual abuse for children and their parents) to children at local elementary schools, and host an annual Christmas Party and Fishing Party for youth in need. We sponsor and support youth service organizations: Key Clubs at 5 high schools; Circle K International at Colorado State University; and Aktion Club (a service organization open to all adults living with disabilities who want to take on leadership roles). Our members are always alert to see how we can address the needs of our community and its youth.
