Mission Statement
Breakthrough Bike Challenge organizes an annual bike ride in southeastern PA to raise funds for cancer research. 100% of donors' dollars go to support research at the University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Research Center. We are a 501(c)3 organization.
About This Cause
Inspired by the courage of friends and family members battling cancer, we organized a spring bike ride in southeastern Pennsylvania to raise funds for research. That initial ride raised $50,000; we tripled the amount of donations in year two and continue to grow. The Breakthrough Bike Challenge directors and generous sponsors cover the administrative costs of the ride so that 100% of donors' contributions go directly to fund cancer research at the University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Research Center. Our annual bike ride follows short, medium, and long routes through rolling farmland. Riders can register or donate at www.breakthroughbikechallenge.org .
