The Unity Center for Behavioral Health will change the trajectory of people's lives by providing a clear path for people facing a mental health crisis.
About This Cause
People experiencing a psychiatric emergency can’t always get the help they need, when they need it. Emergency Departments are crowded and inadequate for treating these issues. Too often mental health issues go untreated, which can lead to homelessness, loss of employment, damaged relationships, incarceration and suicide. It's time to change that. The right care at the right time: As the first behavioral health center of its kind in the region, the Unity Center for Behavioral Health is expected to become a national model or providing compassionate mental health care in times of crisis, without unnecessary waiting. Through an unprecedented collaboration between Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health and Oregon Health & Science University we have set a goal of providing care for all those in need through a combination of emergency, inpatient and outpatient services. The partners have embraced the concepts of hope, recovery and resilience to guide this new venture. How you can help: The cost of the construction is estimated at $50 million. Legacy will donate $10 million in real estate and is committed to actively seeking the additional funds from a combination of corporations, foundations, government entities and individual donors. Your donation will improve the lives of individuals and families living with behavioral health issues. Together we can build a healthier community.
