ORGANIZATION INFORMATION Ohana Services Network (OSN) was established as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit Corporation on July 2, 2014, by a group of like minded community support service agencies working together in collaboration to meet the growing demands and needs of the most vulnerable populations in Hawai’i. OSN formed as a result of the State of Hawai’i’s Access To Recovery (ATR) initiative, which was funded through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) from 2008-2014. OSN is recognized by SAMHSA as a legitimate representative of their health provider network. OSN currently provides Mental Health First Aid training to community partners, frontline staff, volunteers, and other concerned citizens. OSN also provides recovery support services to support clients in transitioning back into society and or to support their sobriety by providing treatment, recovery mentoring, counseling, sober support activities and group support as well as assistance with transportation, clean and sober housing, job skills and other culturally sensitive services. OSN is a coalition of provider organizations that have established a recovery-oriented system of care for people in Hawai’i who struggle with addictions. The OSN stakeholders have been working in collaboration since 2008 when the State of Hawai’i Department of Health Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division was awarded a grant through United States Department of Health and Human Services (US DHHS) Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) “Access to Recovery (ATR) Grant” (TI-10-008). Since the ending of the project period, the stakeholders have dedicated their services to continue the collaboration sustainability beyond the end of ATR funding. The Ohana Services Network is a statewide network linking 4 counties: Honolulu, Hawai’i, Kauai, and Maui (which includes Lanai and Molokai) of community and faith-based addiction recovery providers, and proposes to continue, expand and increase the capacity of its existing network. OSN will customize the approach to outreach and access treatment to the cultural differences each island community has by establishing a system of care through qualified Community Care Networkers (CCN) in each county. The role of the CCN's is to conduct intake assessments, present appropriate recovery support services for clients to choose from, and provide ongoing case management with clients and the providers.
