Mission Statement
Kannada Sangha of Sacramento (KSS) is an association of Kannadigas (Kannada speaking people from Karnataka State in India), who live, or work in the Greater Sacramento region of California. KSS is a secular, educational, linguistic and cultural Non Profit Organization, and its aim is to accomplish the objectives.
About This Cause
Kannada Sangha of Sacramento (KSS) has adopted the following objectives that drives the organization in decision making, priorities, and setting vision for future. To protect, maintain, preserve and promote the interests, heritage, language, culture and history of Kannadigas residing in Greater Sacramento area. To encourage the young generation of the Kannadigas in Greater Sacramento Area to participate in the activities of Kannada programs. To establish a program of teaching Kannada language and culture for young children. To establish forums for exchange of information among Kannadigas for helping each other. To encourage Kannadigas to participate actively in all other Indian organizations in Sacramento, contribute to the growth and recognition of Indians. To encourage Kannadigas to participate actively in the Local Community events and contribute towards the growth of the same. KSS is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 c 3 corporation incorporated in the State of California. The organization, is required by law, to have a structure that is consistent with the best practices. KSS is comprised of dedicated volunteers who work with passion and work for a common cause, to serve the community. The organization structure is described below: Five Board of Directors Five Executive Committee Members Ten Operations Committee Members There are many volunteers who stay outside the organization structure, but render support and help on a as needed basis.
