NYAGI Project empowers local healthcare workers in resource-poor areas how to triage life-threatening health conditions through accelerated, low-cost ultrasound skills training.
About This Cause
NYAGI is an acronym for: Now You Are the Group's Interest and serves as the name for the mother or child in desperate need of medical care. Our vision is to connect the world via shared ultrasound education and technology. Every 2 minutes a mother dies from complications of pregnancy and childbirth, deaths that may be avoided with appropriate care. We teach ultrasound skills to health workers in resource limited countries and re-purpose tablet computers to save lives and to connect the world in the process. Doctors and nurses learn ultrasound skills to identify those mothers with potentially life-threatening pregnancies and triage them for appropriate care. This proactively saves lives and helps maintain family and community health.
