About This Cause
Washington Telangana Association(WATA) works towards achieving the following goals * Building a platform for our younger generations about Indian culture and heritage. * Adopt your village in Telangana and help by giving back to our own land. Our first step is to adopt 10 villages and help them in improving the primary education system. * Providing a platform primarily for NRI and their children and organizations interested in the causes supported by WATA to come together for broader discussion of various problems that Telangana is facing. * To celebrate Telangana festivals (Ex: Bathukamma) with the help of local Telugu Organizations. * To promote Telangana culture in WA state. * To develop and maintain an active web site that serves as a repository of information resources and links about Telangana along with a cyber space meeting place for the members to exchange and discuss views about Telangana issues. * To help the local community with immigration updates/advices. * Assist the sponsors of developmental projects in Telangana through their funds channelization and bringing needy people, places, projects and implementation resources together through its foundation activities. * Organize the sessions to create awareness and educate the students to come abroad to purse their education, career and other aspirations. * To conduct health camps in Telangana rural areas.
