About This Cause
PAWKids exist to provide families with various resources that will empower and encourage them while promoting Christian values, building stronger communities, and developing self-sufficiency. The PAW House, focuses on early childhood care, reading, and learning experiences/exposure. The emphasis is on grades kindergarten to 8th grade. The house serves as a haven for children’s academic needs but also provides meals, hygiene kits, and learning tools. All children are tested for reading levels and determine their yearly achievement. The PAW House also provides multiple opportunities for travel, mental health therapy, and other enriching activities that broaden their horizons. Our facility can serve approximately 35-60 students. The Gathering Place provides family services such as: financial literacy courses, behavioral and primary healthcare, and family therapy. The building is offered to the community, for funeral repasses, baby showers, local school off sites, Atlanta Police social gatherings and other events. In response to COVID pandemic and the significant lack of resources in Grove Park; Claudia’s House was born. As a neighborhood food cooperative, we provide hygiene/cleaning products, groceries, fresh cooked meals, and produce. The project is a collective or partners and in 2020, over $175,000 of food/meals were donated which were distributed to approximately 900 people per week. This ministry has touched many others through various events and partnerships. Sam’s Oasis, PAWKids newest location, is a transitional apartment home for neighbors experiencing displacement.
