The mission of Star-C is to reduce resident transiency in affordable housing communities and nearby schools, provide academic support for children, and ultimately improve the quality of life for the individual and the neighborhood.

Star-C is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering stability, empowerment, and educational enrichment within affordable housing communities. Our mission is clear: to reduce resident transiency in these communities and nearby schools while providing vital academic support for children, ultimately improving the quality of life for individuals and neighborhoods alike. At Star-C, we believe in a community-centered model that relies on partnerships with conscientious landlords committed to providing well-maintained, affordable housing for working families, many of whom live near the poverty line. Through these partnerships, we're able to create a ripple effect of positive change, resulting in decreased transiency rates, strengthened community bonds, and decreased financial burdens for families. One of the cornerstones of our work is the provision of free afterschool care and summer camp programs for elementary students. These programs not only alleviate childcare expenses for tenants but also offer children access to enriching activities and educational opportunities. By nurturing young minds during critical developmental stages, we aim to equip children with the tools they need to succeed academically and personally.
