About This Cause
DAN HEALY, US NAVY SEAL KIA AFGHANISTAN, JUNE 28, 2005 Senior Chief Petty Officer Dan Healy, of Exeter, NH was lost during Operation Red Wings when the rescue helicopter he was riding in was shot down. Inspired by an intense sense of honor and responsibility, he left the original helicopter he was on, took men off of the lead helicopter, and boarded in their place, saying: “Those are my men, and my face will be the first one they see.” Greater Love Has No Man Than He Lay Down His Life For His Brothers – John 15:13 The Annual Dan Healy Memorial 5 K was great with the largest turn out yet and what a beautiful day it was. So many made the race possible and with the monies collected the Foundation will be able to help more veterans and single parent households on the Seacoast as well as give scholarships to students entering the military or trade schools. We want to thank all of the runners, volunteers, sponsors, organizers and media who helped make the run such a success as well the Town of Exeter, the Exeter police department and parks dept. for their support. See you all next year. Board of Directors Dan Healy Foundation
