Mission Statement
UltraViolet drives feminist cultural and political change. Through people power and strategic advocacy, we work to improve the lives of women of all identities and backgrounds by dismantling discrimination and creating a cost for sexism.
About This Cause
UltraViolet is a powerful and rapidly growing community of more than 1.2 million women and our allies who are fighting for justice for all women, which we define as the systemic distribution of power, opportunities, and access resulting in equitable outcomes. We use our rapid-response capacity and media expertise to leverage tipping point moments in culture, politics, and media to mobilize millions of people online and in their communities to take collective, strategic actions to demand justice and accountability while simultaneously working toward long-term, systemic change to create a more safe and equitable world for all of us. By leading with our vision and identifying opportunities to work toward that vision, we are providing our communities with the tools, knowledge, and strategy to move the needle forward. Together with our members and allies, we: ● Build public awareness and education around issues that unjustly and negatively impact women’s lives. ● Seize high-impact media moments to create opportunities for women to advocate for safety and security in all areas of their lives. ● Influence the national conversation on issues that impact women by focusing on the extreme challenges that women of color, Indigenous women, immigrants, low-income women, and LGBTQ people face, and amplify local issues to a national audience. UltraViolet strives to maintain a diverse group of allies across racial, political, gender, economic, geographic, and religious lines.
