About This Cause
Our Mission is to cultivate a resilient and inclusive Pacific Northwest community. Our Vision Positive, place based action for an inclusive and unified Pacific Northwest with a recognizable culture of bioregional sustainability. Our Mechanism We are a philanthropic incubator for grassroots, community centered projects. We provide tools, guidance and services so that all Cascadians can develop and deliver solutions that meet the needs of their communities at all scales. Our work • Educate and raise awareness of Cascadia & Bioregionalism, by supporting grassroots volunteers and building resources. • Support volunteers educating, building partnerships, and affecting change in their local communities. • Support Project Leaders who host programs and events that help improve the well being of the Cascadia bioregion and its inhabitants. • Provide a hub for communications and services for grassroots programs in Cascadia. • Partner with other organizations, causes ,and events in line with our mission and values. Our Projects We have supported over 50 grassroots projects, such as an art class program for disabled adults, a rock climbing and homework mentorship program for underserved youth, a rural LGBTQ+ youth center, a mentorship program for BIPOC high school students to teach elementary students mindfulness, and the worlds leading concussion resource website, newsletter and intern program. We are proud of the thousands of volunteers who have worked under our nonprofit umbrella to cultivate a resilient and inclusive Pacific Northwest community. CascadiaNow! was formed as a 501(c)3 organization creating a central hub of services and support that many groups need (fiscal sponsorship,) but very few have access to and provide a transparent and accountable infrastructure that allows for democratic and horizontal self organization and can build in an exponential growth curve as the community grows. We empower every person to get involved with the issues they care about! After many years of watching great ideas struggle not because they weren't great ideas, but because many people lacked the support they needed, CascadiaNow!’s founding directors and board members became a 501(c)3 non-profit to provide structure as a fiscal sponsor to support fellow Cascadians great ideas.
