Mission Statement
The Shefa School is a new Jewish community day school in Manhattan. Shefa serves children who need a specialized educational environment in order to develop their strengths while addressing their learning challenges.
About This Cause
The Shefa School specifically serves students with language-based learning disabilities. The program is geared toward students who have average to above average intelligence who have not reached their potential levels of success in traditional classroom settings. The Shefa School is a pluralistic community school, seeking to serve families across the Jewish spectrum. Our goal is to make Shefa a welcoming place that integrates rich Jewish values, community, culture, traditions, and holidays — regardless of each family's particular practice or affiliation. We will serve only kosher food and will observe all holidays in accordance with the Jewish calendar. Shefa will nurture our students' commitment to Jewish values and teach the skills to enable them to participate fully in Jewish life.
