Mission Statement
Southern Conservation Partners (a nonprofit, public interest charity) builds partnerships, promotes innovative and creative approaches for protecting environmental and land resources, and provides support services to conserve, restore, and honor natural heritage assets and to enhance environmental justice and equity in the southern U.S.A.
About This Cause
SCP works regionally to help local community-focused coalitions across the southern U.S. to save, honor, defend, enhance, restore, and sustain environmental resources and interrelated natural and cultural heritage assets. SCP both initiates its own projects and also serves as fiscal sponsor for adopted projects that fulfill its mission and objectives. Southern Conservation Partners (SCP) cultivates environmental leaders and supports community endeavors by serving as counselor and service center. Fiscal sponsorship of projects is SCP's principal means to advance its goals by serving as the organizational and financial umbrella for locally- and community-focused projects consistent with its mission. We sponsor multiple special projects concurrently. We are an all-volunteer organization with a board of directors and council of advisors nearly all retired from long professional careers in land and environmental conservation in the southern U.S. Visit our website to learn more: www.ConservationSouth.org .
