Mission Statement

Telangana association of Portland (TCAP) is a non-profit, non-religious organization based in Portland, OR that strives to represent the Telangana community of Portland and create an home away from home. It aims to form a common bond among the people of Telangana origin living in Portland; to preserve, foster and honor the diverse social, cultural, and educational heritage of Telangana in Portland.

About This Cause

TCAP started in 2013 with a spark of some like-minded Telangana people who wanted to organize Bathukamma event with no funds, no resources, no forum to reach out. TCAP was formally registered as a non-profit organization in 2014 and started to hold multiple social events with the support of local Telangana people and generous sponsors. With the ever-growing Telangana community at Portland, there was never such a platform that aimed to promote the Telangana food and culture. The organization grows bigger every year and has begun conducting events on a larger scale, inviting celebrities from Telangana. The association recognizes and aims to help the drought-hit farmers of Telangana to overcome the situation and tries to make sure it adds some value to the people back home.
