Mission Statement
The mission of the Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) is to improve the general well-being and education of the Asian, Pacific Islander and other ethnic communities in Nevada. The ACDC will promote, foster, champion and advocate for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the greater Nevada Community.
About This Cause
The Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) has been playing a crucial role to educate, empower, and connect the AANHPI communities in Nevada. Founded in 2015, ACDC emerged in response to the growing needs and challenges faced by the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community in Nevada. Initially established as a grassroots organization, ACDC has since grown into a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to addressing systemic inequalities, promoting cultural preservation and celebration, and fostering civic and community engagement and empowerment. We address a wide range of issues including food insecurity, health insecurity, access to social services, and immigration services. Our Strategic Initiatives encompasses a range of special events and programs designed to uplift and celebrate the vibrancy and resilience of the AANHPI community in Nevada. Our Civic and Community Engagement is at the heart of our work at ACDC. Through voter registration drives, civic education workshops and advocacy campaigns we empower community members to raise their voices, advocate for their rights. A cornerstone of ACDC's success has been its multilingual approach to service delivery. By offering case management in languages such as Chinese, Mongolian, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese, the organization has been able to engage diverse community members who might otherwise face barriers due to language gaps. This language access is essential for ensuring that services are both accessible and effective, and for maximizing participation in programs, fostering the sense of belonging and empowerment among our AANHPI communities.
