About This Cause
The mission of IDEAL is to advocate and create programs that help Latino families become self-sufficient and thriving members of our society. Our vision is to see Low-Moderate Income Latino Families in Los Angeles will be financially literate, thriving and raising the next genera-tion of leaders. IDEAL Wealth Academy is a new and unique financial and life skills program that is designed for parents and high school seniors in Los Angeles county. IDEAL Wealth Academy is an innovative and unique financial and life skills program. IDEAL Wealth Academy is intended for our low- to-moderate income families and youth to equip them with the tools, knowledge, and counseling they need to achieve financial stability. The program’s goal aims to invest in the economic development of our greater Los Angeles community by equipping low-to- moderate income individuals, families, and youth with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to gain and maintain financial stability. The services and financial counseling provided will not only assist families and youth gain greater financial knowledge, but will also give access to attend our monthly workshops, training on home-ownership, small business, secondary education, and life skills training for youth. Parents will attend a monthly group workshop (in-person or virtually) and will be invited to partner with a financial coach over a 6-7 month period and receive coaching on a monthly basis to help them design and achieve financial goals. At the end of program completion, couples will demonstrate behaviors and techniques to become financially capable. Families will open a checking, savings, and establish an emergency savings fund. Once families build a stable emer-gency fund, they will then evaluate the need for; credit cards, investments, and prime loans. High school seniors will attend monthly workshops that will topics in the area of Finances, ca-reers & internships, and entrepreneurship.
