Mission Statement
Another Chance Chicago is a non-profit agency whose mission it is to eliminate violence among youth in the community by providing Substance Use Disorder and MISA treatment counseling services for adolescents and their families.
About This Cause
Another Chance Chicago is a home, school, and community based program that provides substance abuse, mental health treatment and dual-diagnosis capable services for adolescents with chemical dependency, behavioral health issues and co-occurring disorders. The initiative will present individual treatment services and meet the youth right where they are-in the environments where they need to practice their coping skills the most-home, school and in the community. Technological advances in neuropsychology now allow accurate diagnosis and corresponding treatment through the use of imaging and scans. For group therapy the youth won't have to travel. Through an advanced avatar technology system available to Another Chance Chicago each client can participate in group sessions without leaving home, thus protecting their anonymity and encouraging them to be involved openly and to share freely by way of a laptop computer, a tablet, a smartphone or a few blocks away at one of Cook County"s federally qualified health centers (FQHC's). This system will also provide crisis intervention services at the touch of a button 24 hours a day. All services are billed to Medicare or private insurances, hence the program will be fully self sustaining after it's initial start-up costs.
