Mission Statement

Our mission is to educate, inspire and nurture women business owners and entrepreneurs worldwide on how to go global so they can run healthier businesses and create a new future for themselves, their families and their community.

About This Cause

Founded in 2015, Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global (wegg®) is the only woman-centric nonprofit organization in the U.S. that is exclusively dedicated to helping female entrepreneurs sell their products and services internationally. wegg has keen insight into the emotional resistance women have about risk taking. As such, its goal is to empower women business owners economically by offering them accessible and free or affordable business education on growing globally. Exporting is the new business frontier, but of the more than 11 million women-owned small- and medium-sized businesses in the U.S., only about 12% export. They are typically too time- and cash-strapped to enroll in an international-focused MBA program or to attend conferences. Nor are there many support systems for women entrepreneurs that focus on international expansion, such as hands-on training, trusted advisory networks, financial education, and community programs. Yet studies show that when women-owned firms export, they tend to employ more people, especially more women. They are, on average, more productive than firms that don’t export. wegg helps women entrepreneurs at all stages of their business life cycle successfully export products and services to the global marketplace. It offers cool, engaging, and accessible educational programs and peer-to-peer empowerment, delivered via multimedia, and in a supportive, enabling environment. Signature offerings include: - Weekly TikTok Global Gal presentations - Weekly blog - Monthly wegginar® - Monthly “How She Went Global®” podcasts - Monthly Virtual Café - informal sharing of best practices - Bi-weekly e-newsletter - Club wegg™ interactive community and exclusive Cohorts for women who export - Gail Adinamis wegg® Award for Exemplary Global Leadership™ - Website filled with articles and an archive of past online presentations - Club wegg® But wegg offers more than “how tos.” The organization understands the social and emotional barriers that prevent or intimidate risk-adverse women entrepreneurs from going global. It also knows the personal and professional satisfaction women have when they achieve a global mindset. wegg’s technical expertise such as training, education programs, financial know-how, advisory networks, and community spaces give women business owners the assurance and adaptability to rethink preconceived notions of what they can and cannot do so they can pursue global growth with confidence. To meet a woman business owner who is selling successfully around the world can be a transformative experience for another female entrepreneur considering her own global reach. The accessible and affordable education, advice, role modeling, and support wegg offers are the key drivers to international sales success for women-owned SMEs. During 2021, wegg served more than 1,000 women business owners by hosting 12 monthly wegginars, facilitating conversations by women business owners in the U.S. and Africa during more than 50 weekly wegg Virtual Cafes, launching the monthly How She Went Global© podcast, kicking off the weekly Global Gal TikTok series, publishing more than two dozen newsletters, creating more than 200 posts on the wegg blog, and establishing the Gail Adinamis wegg Award for Exemplary Global Leadership.™ In 2021, wegg launched the Club wegg® circle community. With 35 members at present, the online club, which provides earned income to wegg, offers interactive opportunities for women business owners anywhere in the world to learn from, and be resources to, one another. A twelve-month membership to Club wegg is $79.99 per person, enabling wegg to move toward sustainability through a stream of earned income. Additionally, a professionally-facilitated cohort exclusively for women business owners who export and have sales of $500,000+ meets monthly on Club wegg. Women pay $1,200 to join a cohort. wegg is now working on establishing a second cohort. In the short-term, wegg's vision is for a greater number of low- and middle-income U. S.-based women small business owners to move to the next level of effectiveness - international sales. Getting started is the first step of the journey. wegg can help them take that first step, including providing the financial know-how to conduct overseas business effectively and with confidence. In the long-term, wegg seeks to diminish the structural and social barriers preventing women-owned SMEs with exportable products and services from reaching their full business potential. Healthier women-owned enterprises and the purchasing power they provide means healthier local and regional economies. Also, the greater the profitability, the more chances these businesses have to pay it forward by teaching job skills to low-income women, eradicating poverty in third world countries, helping physically- and emotionally-disabled individuals to thrive, improving the environment, and the like. Greater education and linkage to other women entrepreneurs in the global sphere via a learning community like wegg can also give women greater access to capital and financing, staffing, sharing of best practices, and introductions to quality suppliers.
