Mission Statement
Tulalens equips women living in urban slums to make critical decisions that radically improve their health and that of their families.
About This Cause
We envision a world where women are knowledgeable consumers of health, not passive recipients. We are currently accomplishing this by focusing on one condition, iron-deficiency anemia (IDA). More than 11 million women in urban slums in India have IDA, and experience infections, headaches and weakness because of it. We combat this by helping women track their iron intake, and by recommending iron-rich ingredients that fall within their budget, taste preferences and time. So far, we've increased women's iron intake by 2.5.
