Mission Statement

To provide food for hungry people in our community regardless of age, sex, race, health, religious affiliation or economic status.

About This Cause

As a 501(c)3 Charitable organization, the Presbyterian Pantry is located in the inner city of Green Bay and has served area families in need for more than 30 years. The Pantry began in the early 1980's to provide basic food for Asian refugees when they settled into the area around the church. Over the years the pantry has grown to include all racial demographics, age groups, and economic factors. As the needs of the Pantry grew, other Presbyterian Churches in the area were asked to join this effort. Today the Pantry is supported by 3 Presbyterian Churches within the Green Bay area and serves over 2,300 households annually, which includes over 9,000 adults and children, primarily from the immediate neighborhood of First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay. Tank Elementary School, located in the Church neighborhood, has documented that 92% of the children attending this school are living at or below poverty level. The Presbyterian Pantry has worked with Tank School administrators to assist with the food needs of these families and and has worked with Feeding America to provide food to our neighborhood families.
