Mission Statement
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps Fort McHenry Division Inc. is a non-profit youth program for Americans ages 11 through 17. USNSCC is comprised of two programs: The Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC), for young people ages 11 through 13 and the Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) program is for young people ages 13 through 17. We provide compelling life-changing programs that instill the values of teamwork, discipline, camaraderie and service through our passionate all-volunteer force and our partnerships with our nation's armed forces. The Fort McHenry Division and Training Ship Constellation serve over 50 youth. We currently drill once a month at the Navy Operational Support Center (Baltimore) where we have the full support of active duty personnel and reservist.
About This Cause
We give our cadets the opportunity to experience hands-on training, community outreach, team-building exercises, and leadership building retreats. The sea cadet experience is something that each cadet can look back on as one the greatest and most memorable experiences of their lives! In addition to monthly drills, each cadet is afforded the opportunity to participate in summer advancement trainings, to include: medical, aviation/flight school, leadership, legal studies, culinary arts, and recruit training (“boot camp”). Each cadet is also proud to serve the community through honor guard services, laying wreaths, color guard presentations, and home-coming parades, as well as other service events such as charity runs and benefits. We have a significant number of teens participating in our program that come from financially challenged households. Our goal is to never deny a youth the opportunity to become a future leader, and to allow all of them full participation in this program. Currently, 90% of all funding for cadet uniforms, travel, supplies, food, and activities are the responsibility of the parent. With our units’ remarkable growth, we are reaching out to partners - such as you - for support. We appreciate your help in providing the resources for us to improve what we do for young men and women in the Baltimore area.
