Mission Statement
Vision Statement: Improving lives through education by keeping kids in school. Mission Statement: Education reduces poverty, improves lives, and builds better communities. For many families in Mexico, education is not affordable. KKIS keeps kids in school by removing financial barriers. We also help kids develop their language, life and work skills. Our success is made possible by generous donations of time and money from individuals and corporations who share our values and vision.
About This Cause
Children in the Yucatan of Mexico drop out of school at age 12 just because their parents can't afford to by uniforms, school supplies and pay fees. Parents can't afford school because the local wages are so low most families live on less than $400 a month and they are working full-time. This is creating a whole generation of children who can't get jobs because they aren't educated to a high school level. It truly is a cycle of poverty. Our goal is to keep kids in school by providing scholarships and school supplies along with lots of support. We support public school children who are motivated to learn but can't financially pay for school. All scholarships are paid for by sponsors that step forward and sponsor a student for 3 years at the high school level.
