Mission Statement
The JCS Project focuses on encouraging young HBCU students (17-24) to not only go to college but to finish. We do this by passing out FREE College Care Packages. The care packages that we give are not just boxes of food but it is packed with handwritten encouraging words, volunteer opportunities throughout the community and most importantly LOVE!
About This Cause
Every January we host a Scholarship Breakfast and award at least 10 students with book scholarships and acknowledge them as Ambassadors to represent a variety of HBCU Colleges/Universities. In July we host our annual Back2School College Drive. Before students leave Houston, TX they can pick up their FREE College Survival Kit. Year round we go on an HBCU Campus Tour. Traveling all over Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida giving out 100 FREE Packages at each stop. Now we are gearing up to start mailing FREE College Care Packages HBCU Food Pantries to help bring a stop to food insecurity.
