Mission Statement

Jeremiah School is a faith-based school for students on the autism spectrum. We provide a safe, therapeutic, and educational environment where students develop the skills to build positive relationships and reach their greatest potential.

About This Cause

Jeremiah School is a private non-profit school for students aged 8-18 who are on the autism spectrum. The program aims to prepare students for the future, in the hope they will lead independent, fulfilled, and productive lives within their community. The program covers academics, social and emotional learning, life skills, community based instruction, therapeutic interventions, counseling, and transition to adulthood. The school also works very closely with parents to provide support and guidance. The school has grown from 5 students using a classroom in a church in 2016, to 32 students on our own school campus in 2021. Class sizes are limited to 6 students to allow for a highly individualized approach. Each class has a highly qualified special education teacher, and a classroom aide. There is also a full time counselor, principal, and administration assistant. This staffing level is essential to provide the support that students with autism need in order to be successful, but it is very costly. Tuition income only covers part of the cost of the school, the rest has to be made up with grants, donations, and fundraising efforts. Places at the school are in high demand, and there is a waiting list for entry. Current figures from the CDC show that 1in 44 children are being diagnosed with autism, a figure that is constantly rising. Students with autism find public school very difficult due to the pace of the curriculum, the amount of testing, the homework, large classes, and sensory overload of a big school environment. Many children also experience bullying, and become depressed, shut down, and fall behind with their studies. Jeremiah School is purposely designed around the needs of autistic children, with a custom curriculum, a sensory friendly environment, and expert teachers. Our students blossom in the safe and supportive environment we provide. Here are some testimonials from our students: “This is the best school I have ever been too. People here listen to what you have to say to help you out - to do better. I love how I can help people out, too. It feels good to help and be kind. People are careful with how they treat each other. Thank you for helping me be positive. Thank you for letting me help others. Thank you for letting us go on trips and having fun. I love this school.” –Jasmine, 16 “I like Jeremiah School because it is a good experience, unlike my other schools. I really appreciate everyone in Jeremiah School because everyone is so nice and sweet. Everyone is funny and so positive. I’m glad I have great teachers to support me.”
-Michael, 16 “I like Jeremiah School because I feel accepted” – Landon, 9 “I best thing I love about my school is there are no bullies, because I was bullied before. Everyone here is nice to me.” Jacob, 10
