Create coaching relationships with gritty student-athletes to help them learn a mental framework for success in life and inspire them to impact others.
About This Cause
Handshake America recognizes the importance of a proper handshake and what it may reveal about a person's character. Inspired by John Wooden's Pyramid of Success, the Handshake America 5 Practices of Success Coaching and Scholarship Program helps student-athletes learn the fundamentals and definition of "success" while leveraging the experiences they have gained through athletics. Selected high school student-athletes are assigned to a team (3 Handshake America Coaches and 6 student-athletes) and participate in our year-long 5Ps program. Upon completion of our program student-athletes are awarded a postsecondary scholarship.
