Mission Statement
The Kyle Hyland Foundation for Teen Support was founded by Barbara Gervase, the mother of Kyle Hyland, who tragically took his life at the age of 16. The mission of the Foundation is to provide charitable and educational support to teens by establishing a center where teens can be provided emotional support through mentoring, counseling, music and art. In addition, education will be provided to the general public to further promote the emotional well-being of teens in crisis.
About This Cause
In addition to establishing a drop-in teen center in the city of Benicia for teens to come together and support each other through music, art and social interaction, counseling and mentoring services will also be offered by caring adults in the community. The goal is also to hire a part-time psychologist to train teens to be peer counselors and to facilitate support groups. Seminars will be offered to both teens and their parents in the field of child development. In addition, local and internet referrals are available on the foundation website: www.kylehyland.com
