Mission Statement
We partner with business, communities and government to support more accountable, equitable, and sustainable energy development. Through our globally-recognized high-ESG Energy Development Project Standards, we recognize and reward responsible energy producers through third-party independent, site-level certification. We support Indigenous Rightsholders in biodiverse regions of Latin America through our award winning model of high-speed Connectivity, Connection and Capacity Development.
About This Cause
Born in Ecuador in 2009, and incorporated as a US charity in 2012, Equitable Origin created the world´s first stakeholder-led, independent, voluntary standards system for Energy Development projects. Through our innovative third-party auditable standards for Natural Gas and Renewable Energy projects, we incent and differentiate leadership practices at the site level. Today, over 15% of US and Canadian natural gas is audited against our high-ESG low-carbon project standards. A social venture, we reinvest revenues in support of our work in Mexico, Peru and Ecuador with Indigenous Rightsholders to support Informed Decision-making processes in the context of energy and resource development. Our team of 10 spans 5 countries and 3 continents.
