The Braid (formerly Jewish Women's Theatre) is commissioning new work and producing “Salon” theatre, The Braid broadens the view of Jewish women, creates a body of work that stands as a testament to their lives, establishes a legacy for future generations, and makes a lasting contribution to Jewish culture.
About This Cause
The Braid (formerly Jewish Women's Theatre) is a nonprofit company that commissions and produces new material reflecting the experiences in America today. Theatre begins with the written word, and therefore, ours is to be a writer’s theatre and the play is to be the genesis of all our work. To this end, we nurture the development of material that might not be created without our solicitation and support, seeking out accomplished writers and encouraging them to explore their Jewish identity and create from their hearts.
