LoftOpera is a mix between a loft party and a startup opera company.
About This Cause
LoftOpera is a Brooklyn based opera company that produces four fully-staged operas with live orchestra and cast per year. We are an itinerant company that produces in large warehouse spaces around Brooklyn. Our goal has been to introduce a younger, less affluent audience to opera, which we are accomplishing on a scale of 300-500 attendees per performance night. We do this by offering low ticket prices ($30) and by setting productions in alternative loft spaces in Brooklyn with creative but inexpensive staging. We have found that this formula is exciting and inspiring a new and growing generation of opera enthusiasts. Founded in 2013, LoftOpera is also committed to championing new artistic talent by providing young artists opportunities to perform lead roles backed by high quality musical accompaniment and artistic direction.
