BIO-LINK DEPOT, INC.

Oakland, California, 94603 United States

Mission Statement

Since 2006, the Depot has provided a central connection point for companies in California, that wish to make contributions of equipment and supplies to schools. Not only are all the equipment and supplies donations tax-deductible, the donors save considerable costs and space by moving out their surplus equipment and supplies. The donor companies are making a worthwhile contribution to regional education, while diverting equipment and unused supplies from waste to needy education programs.

About This Cause

Financially under-resourced community colleges and K-12 schools are often unable to equip classrooms with the necessary scientific laboratory equipment and supplies to give students a quality science education. The Depot fills this need by collecting, sorting, and warehousing surplus laboratory equipment and supplies donated from local science companies and institutions (such as Genentech and Bayer) and redirecting this equipment and supplies to schools throughout California, the majority from the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently The Depot stores donated equipment at two Bay Area locations (in Oakland and at Foothill College). The Depot holds several Open Houses throughout the year for teachers to pick up items needed to furnish their classroom laboratories.
