Mission Statement
Our mission is to ensure that no animal is forced to suffer or face euthanasia due to a lack of funds. We provide emergency medical funds for injured strays and financial assistance for pets of low-income households. We also focus on prevention and education; we work to provide spay/neuter for any unaltered animal we assist and to low income pet owners; we coordinate and fund TNR efforts as well. For strays in medical emergencies, we work to find rescue for once the animal is stabilized and is back on the path to good health, and use our large following to unite the Rescue Community through the power of networking. We work to support licensed rescues as they endeavor to save animals; whether that be helping to source vet care, transportation or placement. While the overwhelming majority of our efforts are local, we do our best to help any animal in need and will assist with cases in rural areas, both in MO/IL and neighboring states. We offer assistance with transport expenses and coordination; many times, our directors and volunteers take the transport ourselves! In 2020, we were able to assist with over $106,000 in vet bills and we are on track to double that in 2021. We are one hundred percent volunteer run and donation funded. We are grateful beyond measure for our members and volunteers. *in the exceedingly rare instance that funds raised in a campaign surpass the amount needed, any surplus goes directly to help the next animal in need.
About This Cause
Saving St. Louis Pets’ goal is to unite the rescue community to save more animals through the power of networking. I’m addition to providing funds for emergency and basic vet care, we work tireless to find placement, transportation, food, medication and supplies and lend needed support to other rescues for their immediate as well as ongoing needs.
