Mission Statement

The primary function of the R.I.D.E. Foundation is to provide equine centered education, training, rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of at risk horses. Throughout this process, the R.I.D.E. Foundation will harness the proven power of equine based therapy for people as well (hippotherapy). While the therapy will focus on those with traumatic stress, it will also assist those with social anxieties, emotional and developmental disorders. This will be through the solid and proven benefits of equine based therapy. (The R.I.D.E. Foundation will henceforth be referred to as RIDE) RIDE will acquire at-risk equine (rescue horses) and wild equine from Bureau of Land Management that have not been adopted, are on the Sale Authority list, and would otherwise be euthanized or sent to long term holding facilities. These deserving equine will then be trained and used for the education and therapy aspects of RIDE. Upon completion of training most of these will then find deserving homes. The sales and or adoption fees of these equine will be used to continue to fund and expand RIDE’S outreach and impact. RIDE’s sources of revenue will be from a combination of services, sales, grants and donations. Sales will be generated from the horses themselves through outright sale after training or an adoption fee. There will also be sales generated through promotional merchandise. However RIDE’s most effective revenue will come from services. The services offered by RIDE will be varied yet simple, thereby opening up a wider target market and allowing a more diversified revenue stream. These services will include, but are not limited to the following areas: Training-Lessons-Boarding-Leasing-Therapy-Adoption-Rehabilitation-Events-Exclusive pack trips.

About This Cause

The R.I.D.E. Foundation is a dual-mission 501(c)(3) non-profit. We buy wild, at-risk horses from the Bureau of Land Management's Sale Authority List, as well as from other sources. The horses are brought to our property and trained to become loving and docile creatures. We then find them forever homes. While our horses are being trained, we invite people in need to actively participate. Those suffering from post-traumatic stress, combat veterans, first responders, crime victims, and those with other types of emotional or developmental challenges, can all benefit from hands-on equine-based activities and education. Our participants learn nonverbal communication skills, leadership skills, self-confidence, and emotional stability; all of which can benefit other aspects of their lives and the lives of the horses.
