Mission Statement
Move Food is a software system that connects Sources with extra food to Movers who pick up the food and deliver to Destinations– either pre-designated or at a Movers discretion. Sources can be from restaurants, catering companies, hotels and the like. Movers are people who have some extra time on their hands to do something good. Destinations are people and places who need a good meal. We make it that simple.
About This Cause
What exactly is Move Food? Move Food is a system that matches places with food (Sources) to People with time available (Movers) to bring food to places and people who need food (Destinations). We take the complications of the resource and logistics matching out of the way to make it as simple as possible for everyone to benefit. Move Food exists to help the tens of thousands of organizations doing great work focus on their work of feeding people. Move Food is designed to fit into the structure of existing organizations to assist with the resource matching and logistics needs to get food where it needs to be. We don’t want to replace any other organization. We want to assist and enhance the work they are doing. Or to provide full featured solution ready to use where there is none. Using the Move Food system is totally free. No money changes hands ever. The software, when complete and ready for release, will be available as open source. Move Food is a 501c3 (pending) organization and is funded off donations of work equity and financial support. The launch of the pilot version of the system has been funded by the executive director and a handful of scrappy dedicated developers, marketing folks, and other people who want to do some good in the world
