The mission of Florida Urgent Rescue (F.U.R.) is to save urgent animals.
About This Cause
Florida Urgent Rescue (FUR) saves animals from kill shelters and other urgent situations, and we help people and animals in emergencies. We take in a lot of major medical, special needs and cruelty cases, as well as seniors. We try to help the animals who need the most help. Our FUR Urgent Transport program has helped people and animals in multiple hurricanes. In addition to helping in the Southeastern U.S., FUR launched multiple Bahamas rescue missions after Hurricane Dorian decimated the Bahamas. We also provided disaster relief after the Kentucky Tornado in 2021, and the Eastern Kentucky Tornado in 2022. FUR made 3 trips to Ukraine to help animals and people in danger in 2022, completing multiple rescue missions on the ground in Ukraine. FUR also conducted disaster relief rescue missions on the ground in Antakya, Turkey after the devastating earthquakes in 2023. Florida Urgent Rescue earned a Four-Star Rating on Charity Navigator, the highest possible rating. FUR is also the recipient of a 2023 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency by Guidestar, and is a 2023 Top Rated Nonprofit on Great Nonprofits.
