Mission Statement
United Way of Reno County's mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of a community. Care is mobilized through giving, advocacy and volunteerism. UWRC is predominately a volunteer-lead organization that matches the resources of people in the community who care to people in the community who need help and resources. UWRC currently supports 24 local nonprofit organizations, streamlining efficient delivery of human and health services. UWRC monitors community-level issues and strives to improve the common good by focusing on Education, Financial Stability and Health as factors that significantly impact most people's ability to have and sustain a decent life. Education is essential to getting and keeping a job that provides a livable wage and health benefits. Adequate and consistent income and saving for the future helps stabilize families financially. Maintaining health through good choices and access to health care keeps children on track in school and adults productive at work.
About This Cause
We bring people together to build stronger, more equitable communities where everyone can thrive. We're strengthening education, economic mobility, and access to health. We partner with local non profits to mobilize the caring power of our community we serve. We also promote and help fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Reno and Stafford Counties as well as partner with Delta Dental to offer reduced or free coverage to qualifying individuals. We lead disaster initiatives in our local communities and provide help to find resources for people in need. We help to offer administration for grants to help fund education, childcare, healthcare and food & shelter initiatives.
