ALAMEDA ARCHITECTURAL PRESERVATION SOCIETY

ALAMEDA, California, 94501 United States

Mission Statement

Dedicated to increasing public awareness and appreciation of historic architecture, and the preservation of Historic Structures in the City of Alameda.

About This Cause

AAPS was founded in 1973 with the purpose of halting the destruction of historically significant homes that were being replaced by multi-unit buildings in the historic areas of the city of Alameda. Today, we focus on increasing preservation awareness through community activities such as Membership Meetings and Lectures focusing on restoration techniques, Alameda history and preservation activities. We hold an annual Preservation Awards, we organize Walking Tours led by expert historians and architects, we publish a Quarterly Newsletter and hold fundraising events such as the Legacy Home Tour.
