Group Home for Developmentally Disabled Adults

About This Cause

Our mission is: To create homes where faithful relationships based on forgiveness and celebration are nurtured; To reveal the unique value and vocation of each person; To change society, by choosing to live relationships in community, as a sign of hope and love. L'Arche Noah Sealth of Seattle is one of over 130 L'Arche communities in 34 countries around the world and founded in Seattle in 1975. L'Arche is a 501 (c) (3), nonprofit organization. We receive most of our funding from the State of Washington (about 60%), and from donations. We provide residential care to people with a developmental disability. We serve people within the State of Washington Division of Developmental Disability's Region 4, which is mainly King County, Washington. We provide homes for thirteen people with developmental disabilities (whom we call core members) and their caregivers, (whom we call assistants). Nine volunteers on the Board of Directors guides our community. Though founded and rooted in Catholicism, we are an Ecumenical community where people of all religious traditions are respected.
