Mission Statement
South Richmond Adult Day Care centers mission is to enhance the health and quality of life of older adults with disabilities, both mental and physical, to maintain the highest possible level of functioning by providing professional therapeutic, supportive, and enriching day healthcare services in a community-based environment. The program operates from 7:30AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. The facility is wheel chair accessible and is designed to facilitate open interaction among participants. Community volunteers play an important role in programming and helping to reduce costs. The Center has a community commitment to encourage volunteerism through community service.
About This Cause
South Richmond adult Day Care Center's participants are low-income, minority seniors with multiple chronic conditions including obesity, diabetes, arthritis, and dementia. Grants and donations makes it possible to provide low-income, non-Medicaid eligible frail older adults with high quality services that reduce isolation and promote mobility, wellness, nutrition, socialization, and quality of life among participants. Grants and donations help fill the gap between what a participant can afford to pay for services, typically about $300 a month, and what it costs to provide services, about $1040.00 per person per month. As a result of Grant and donation dollars, low-income older adults are able to live with dignity and independence in their homes and communities.
