Mission Statement
The Minnesota Private College Fund serves the shared needs of its members by seeking philanthropic support from corporations, foundations and others for the benefit of its member colleges and universities and the students they educate.
About This Cause
The activities of the Minnesota Private College Fund address needs of our 17 member institutions in three primary areas: Fundraising - Raising more than $1.5 million in scholarships and other grants from Minnesota businesses, foundations, and select individuals Scholarship Management & Distribution - Distributing 100% of scholarship and general operating dollars raised to member institutions - Managing four program scholarships, ten named scholarships and three pooled scholarships - Working with campus financial aid officers to award over 280 scholarships each year Capacity Building for Member Institutions. - Supporting development efforts of our 17 member institutions - Convening groups and trainings MPCF operates as a pass-through organization—every dollar raised through fundraising goes directly to the 17 member institutions. Each member institution pays annual dues to MPCF, which cover all the Fund’s operating expenses. The Minnesota Private College Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization. A single, 31-member board of directors oversees the activities of the Fund and its sister organization, the Minnesota Private College Council. The board includes the presidents of all 17 of our member colleges and universities, 13 representatives from Minnesota’s business and civic community, and the President of the Minnesota Private College Council and Minnesota Private College Fund. The member institutions of the Minnesota Private College Fund are: Augsburg University, Bethany Lutheran College, Bethel University, Carleton College, College of Saint Benedict, The College of St. Scholastica, Concordia College (Moorhead), Concordia University (St. Paul), Gustavus Adolphus College, Hamline University, Macalester College, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Saint John’s University, Saint Mary’s University of MN, St. Catherine University, St. Olaf College, University of St. Thomas
