Mission Statement
Children’s Hunger Relief Fund seeks to provide for people’s immediate physical needs. This includes sending food, blankets, medicines, and life-saving supplies to those suffering from the effects of war, famine, droughts, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. We then provide for long-term development through economic self-help projects such as agricultural programs, micro-enterprise development, clean-water systems, and leadership development programs. In addition to this help, CHRF is committed to offering continuous support to orphanages and feeding programs worldwide.
About This Cause
What is Children’s Hunger Relief Fund all about? What is our mission? We are part of a non-denominational association of churches whose primary purpose is saving children’s lives and sharing God’s love. We do this by helping people transform their lives and their communities so they can live productively and peacefully. What makes us unique amongst a myriad of other fine relief and development organizations? It’s the four agreements we make with you, our donor: We agree to keep our operating overhead as low as possible; it has been below 3½ percent for the past 17 years. We agree to not duplicate relief efforts, but rather to go “where angels fear to tread.” This means partnering with local groups “on the ground” to serve those overlooked by other agencies and “digging in” – even in active war zones – when other agencies have pulled out due to life-threatening conditions. We agree to help empower individuals and communities to move from the self-perpetuating cycle of need and dependency to a sustainable model of self-sufficiency. We do this on three levels: 1) Providing education and vocational training. 2) Providing small family business training and capital. 3) Providing communities with infrastructure (such as clean water systems) and self-sustaining agricultural projects.
